Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun, will graduate 185 students during its sixth convocation, with 25 bagging First Class Honours.

The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Babalola, said at a news conference heralding the school’s convocation ceremony scheduled for Tuesday that 94 students bagged Second Class Upper.

Babalola stated that 49 students would be graduating with Second Class Lower, with 17 bagging Third Class Honours.

The vice-chancellor named Oluwasemilore Omodehin of Department of Psychology as the best graduating student for the 2023/2024 session, with a CGPA of 4.99.

Babalola, who will be finishing her tenure on Wednesday, said that the university, which started with seven students, could now boast of more than 1, 500 students.

She stated that the institution got provisional licence in 2017 and was given full licence in 2019.

“Our students have always been the best wherever they find themselves after graduation. We have inculcated in them good morals and the best education.

“We have zero tolerance for drugs. We partner with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to sensitise our students,” she said.

The vice-chancellor, who noted that she saw her appointment as a divine call to contribute her quota to the development of the education sector, added that she never regretted being at the helm of affairs of the university.

She appreciated the institution’s founder, Dr Winifred Awosika, for ensuring that the university kept soaring higher and waxing stronger.
