China announced that a new oil field has been discovered in the Bohai Sea, making it the seventh discovery since 2019 at China’s largest Bohai oil field.
According to TV BRICS partner Global Times, China’s largest Bohai oil field has reserves of 100 million tonnes of oil.
Global Times also said that the discovery further strengthens China’s offshore oil and gas reserves and is of great significance for safeguarding national energy security.
According to reports, the oil field uses modern oil and gas migration and accumulation methods, with development carried out on shallow Neogene slopes, which led to this important discovery.
Tests show that the daily output of a single well is about 370 tonnes of crude oil, demonstrating the field’s great potential.
TV BRICS partner Kazinform reported that BRICS countries and their partner states are also actively carrying out new exploration and development of mineral resources.
It said Kazakhstan has discovered a large rare earth deposit, a geological discovery of national significance.
According to the report, scientists said that a significant geochemical halo of rare earth elements was found across an area of 134.6 square kilometres.
The site has high industrial development potential and could become Kazakhstan’s first fully developed rare earth resource base.
Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS also said a new natural gas field has been discovered in Egypt’s Western Desert.
The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum stated that the field produces 16 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and 750 barrels of condensate.
The ministry added that the new field is expected to increase Egypt’s natural gas reserves by around 15 billion cubic feet.
