Chime cautions party faithful against division in PDP

Governor_Sullivan_ChimeGov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has warned party faithful against engaging in acts capable of dividing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Chime gave the warning in Enugu on Tuesday at the ongoing party’s campaign at Igbo-Etiti and Oji River Local Government Areas ahead of the Nov. 2, council elections in the state.

He said that the party in Enugu was intact, noting: “I urge you to disregard any meeting by anyone or some people whose aim is to destroy the party in the state.

“PDP is one in Enugu and there is no going back. The era of godfatherism has gone in the state,’’ he said.

The governor advised members of the party to come out en masse to elect capable leaders during the elections.

The state PDP Chairman, Chief Vita Abba, solicited for the support of the people in Igbo-Etiti and Oji River to ensure the victory of the party at the polls.

The chairmanship candidate in Igbo-Etiti Local Government, Mr Festus Ozoemena, thanked the governor for the opportunity given to him to serve and promised sustainable development in the area.

His Oji River Local Government counterpart, Mr Jideofor Onyemaechi, promised to pursue the four-point agenda of the state government.
