Chelsea FC have already earmarked a replacement for Nigeria’s John Mikel Obi.
Mikel has four years left in his contract at Chelsea but the Europa Cup holders are already targeting Bayern Munich’s Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo as a replacement for the Nigerian midfielder.
Mikel has been persistently linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
Gustavo is expected to cost at least £16 million, but Chelsea’s approach could be hampered by the player’s insistence on staying at Allianz Arena.
Chelsea however, are hoping to lure the 25-year-old player away from the European champions whose already impressive midfield ranks has been bolstered by the acquisition of Thiago Alcantara.
