CHAN: Eagles will qualify, assures High Commissioner

Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner in Rwanda, Ferdinand Nwonye, has assured the teeming supporters of the country’s team at the 4th Orange CAF Nations Championship taking place in Rwanda that the Super Eagles are good to win the title for the first time.
Speaking with Nigerian sports journalists covering the championship in Kigali, Nwonye described the Sunday Oliseh-tutored Eagles as the most complete in the tournament and it will take only a monumental mistake from the team not to emerge champions of the competition.
“Our chances are very bright. From the two matches already played, it shows that Nigeria is better placed to become champions. We are the most skillful team in the tournament and the match against Guinea will be tough but I see us getting the needed result to top the group and return to Kigali for the quarter-finals,” the high commissioner stated.
He further said that the Nigerian mission in Rwanda was doing all in its power to mobilise support for the Super Eagles’ game against Guinea in Rubavu and subsequent matches, stressing that: “The mission here is making contacts with the Ugandan head of Mission to bring Nigerians to the field to cheer the Super Eagles to victory on Tuesday and in the knockout stages.”
