Card reader: Yuguda angry

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State, on Saturday, got angry when the card reader sent to his polling unit, Baba Sidi Primary School, rejected his finger print.
All efforts by the electoral officer to ensure that the card reader recognised the governor’s finger print failed.
When another machine was brought to salvage the situation, it was the same story.
The electoral officer had to apologise and gave the governor an Incident Report Form (IRF) to allow him complete his accreditation.
Yuguda described the incident as annoying and frustrating.
“The card reader didn’t reject my finger print alone. It did same to some eligible voters. I was forced to fill an Incident Report Form to allow me vote which is not a good thing at all. It is frustrating and discouraging”
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Muhammad Kaura, arrived his polling unit at Jibril Aminu Model Primary School where he was accredited by INEC officials at 9am.
The FCT minister expressed happiness for the large turnout by voters.
In many parts of the North-East state, the card reader did not work.
