Senate passes revised 2020 Budget of N10.8trn

Senate

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, wrote to the leadership of the Senate, asking for permission to appoint 15 Special Advisers.
It was his first official letter to the Upper Chamber since he was sworn-in as Nigeria’s 15th Commander-in-Chief last Friday.
The letter was sent to the Senate President, David Mark, and it is believed this will be his last duty as Nigeria’s number three citizen.
Mark is due to leave the seat at the end of the week because his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) only secured 48 seats during the March 28 elections.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 61 seats.
Buhari, in the letter, said he was requesting the approval of the Senate to appoint the 15 Special Advisers “who will assist me to carry out my functions as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces”.
To him, his request was in accordance with Section 151 (1), (2), (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
