After weeks of drama, attacks and counter attacks over who got what from budget padding in the House of Representatives, former Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumun Jibrin, was suspended on Wednesday by the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly.
Jibrin had engaged in a verbal war with the leadership of the House, accusing them of fraud.
The House later mandated the Ethics Committee to investigate all the allegations.
When Jibrin was invited by the panel, he refused to show up.
He was suspended during plenary on Wednesday for six months.
Since legislative or sittings days are different from the normal working days, it is believed that Jibrin may not enter the Chamber for one year.
