Borno: Police donate N26m to families of deceased personnel

The Police Command in Borno has donated N26 million to family members of 12 personnel who died in active service in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar stated this while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He said the gesture is sequel to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba-Alkali, as part of the Force commitment towards improving welfare of police and family members of the deceased personnel.
Umar commended the IGP for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to ensure effective utilisation of the money to fend for their families.
Some of the beneficiaries, lauded the gesture, adding it would g a long way to improve their social and economic wellbeing.
