The Benin Consultative Forum (BCF) has charged Prof. Edoba Omoregie, the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin to enhance the ranking of UNIBEN as a premier institution.

President of the forum, Dr Solomon Arase, who is a former Inspector-General of Police gave the charge at the formal unveiling of the BCF at a dinner on Sunday night .

The forum also used the moment to honour the duo of Prof. Edoba Omoregie, new Vice-Chancellor of the Uniben and Dr Samson Osagie, newly appointed Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Edo.

Arase, however, expressed confidence in the new vice-chancellor’s ability to rally stakeholders and sustain the institution’s excellence.

The BCF president also praised Osagie’s appointment, describing him as a beacon of hope for justice and fairness in the state.

According to him, Osagie’s legacy of integrity and dedication, would undoubtedly uphold the principles of justice and promote equity and progress.

He explained that the aim of BCF is for working for the unity, empowerment and collective progress of the people of Benin and Edo in general.

“Our mission is simple but profound. It is to provide a platform for the expression of our shared identity, to empower the Benin people, and to promote our social, political, economic, and cultural causes.

“Our membership includes Benins at home and abroad, and for whom integrity, excellence, unity, and justice are irreducible values,” he said.

In their response, both Omoregie and Osagie assured the audience of their commitment to delivering on their new assignments for the benefit of Nigerians.

They underscored the need for the people of Benin to unite, nurture ideas, strengthen bonds, and work together towards a more progressive Edo nation.
