The students’ wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nembe local government area, Bayelsa State, congratulates His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, and His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on their swearing-in as Governor and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

The students’ wing describes Douye Diri and Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as the choices of God for Bayelsa State, following the shocking Supreme Court ruling which sacked the states former governor and deputy governor elect.

We urge the new administration to lead Bayelsa State with the fear of God and for the best interest of the people, as only good leadership will enable the people of the state to believe in the vision of the PDP in Bayelsa State and Nigeria.

The students’ wing also tasks the people of Bayelsa State to support and work with the new administration in the state, to ensure a better Bayelsa which will be beneficial to all.

We also admonish the APC in the state against propagating violence and disturbing the existing peace in the state, urging them to accept the will of God and work with the new administration.

The students’ wing believes that the new administration of Senator Douye Diri and Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo will fulfil all promises made to the people of the state and meeting the expectations of Bayelsans.

The students’ wing pleads with the new administration to involve youths and students in its government, thereby appointing youths and students into its cabinet and various offices where they can be useful to themselves, the government and the state at-large.

The students’ wing also tasks the new administration to look into the cases of student bursary loans and scholarships which students in the state are entitled to and ensure that students benefit appropriately from the education sector.
