Bayelsa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Committee has re-invited six persons to appear before it to explain their roles in the April 11 House of Assembly elections conducted in the South-South state.
The persons, who failed to honour a previous invitation for the same purpose, include the senator representing Bayelsa Central, Senator Emmanuel Paulker, Senator Nimi Barigha-Amangi and the suspended State Chairman of the PDP, Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd).
Others are former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, former Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo and presidential aide, Hon. Waripamowei Dudafa.
They are expected to appear before the committee at the PDP Secretariat, along DSP Alamieyeseigha Way, Ovom, Yenagoa by 10 am on Monday, May 25.
A statement by the Chairman and Secretary of the PDP Disciplinary Committee, Cleopas Moses and Dede Ofulu John, states that “the panel is not out to witchhunt anybody, but it is rather intended to sanitise the party as well as ensure discipline and loyalty on the part of its rank and file”.
According to the statement, having received reports about the persons concerned, it was only proper to get their own side of the story to ensure fairness and equity in the discharge of its assignment.
