APC vs PDP

Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being behind the seizure of the balance of the bail-out requested by the state from the Federal Government.
In a statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Jackson Adebayo, in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the PDP accused the Federal Government of playing the script of the APC by financially crippling states governed by the PDP.
Adebayo said out of N29 billion requested from the Federal Government, only N9.6 billion was released to Ekiti State, hence it was evident that Ekiti State was particularly marked for this financial punishment to prepare ground for the 2018 governorship election in the state. ‎
He noted that “the fear of Governor Ayodele Fayose in future elections and his ongoing populist projects had made the leaderships of the APC to be working out this strategy after all attempts to remove him had failed”. ‎
The PDP spokesman challenged the leadership of the APC to come out open on the agenda of their various meetings which they had been holding outside the state whether it had not been on how to pull the state down in the name of politics.‎
The party maintained that in all the meetings, the business of the leaders of the opposition APC in the state had been the concoction of lies and setting grounds for Federal Government to cut allocation to the state and withhold any other right and privilege due to the state as well.
“We want to alert the public that in all the meetings of the APC leaders, they have not been discussing the progress of the state, rather they have preoccupied themselves with the business of how Ekiti State government will not be able to meet its obligations again in terms of regular payment of salaries and furtherance of the populist projects it has embarked upon. They have approached President Muhammadu Buhari and other notable leaders of their party on this matter,”‎ he said.
PDP requested the people of the state to ask the APC leaders why they’ve always been critics of all the projects both completed, ongoing and proposed by the current government, asserting that due to the unpatriotic agenda of the leaders of the APC, they would prefer that Ekiti should be reversed rather than being developed by the present PDP government.‎
The party appealed to well-meaning people of Ekiti State to beg the APC to stop their vilification of the state because of their rejection by the people and their desperate, inordinate and retrogressive ambition which would be detrimental to the progress of the state in the long run.
