In what appears to be a valedictory session, the Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, has proposed ways of moving the country’s aviation industry forward.
Chidoka spoke when he commissioned the Glo-wifi project for the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Also at the occasion, he launched the enhanced security features for ground transportation in Nigeria airports.
These events acted as lead-in to his last briefing of stakeholders in the aviation industry, which held in Lagos the same day.

During the briefing, which had in attendance major industry players, including airlines operators, senior staff of both the Federal Ministry of Aviation and its agencies, concessionaires and the media, Chidoka gave an account of his stewardship in the last 10 months he has been in the saddle.

He gave a state of the agency account, outlining developments in the aviation agencies and finally proposed the way forward, which he recommended should guide the incoming Minister of Aviation.

Apart from making other recommendations that would serve as a blue-print for the in-coming administration, which he hopes should enhance aviation business in Nigeria, Chidoka also recommended the report of the Paul Dike Committee for implementation by the incoming administration.

He particularly made proposals relating to the national carrier debate, Aviation Master Plan, the aerotropolis project, performance management and customer service as well as corporate governance of the industry.

It should be noted that this type of briefing is the first of its kind by a Minister.
