Atlanta partners Ozolua to assist IDPs

The City of Atlanta will be partnering with Modupe Ozolua’s NGO, Empower54 to raise funds for Nigeria’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through Empower54’s Annual African Art Charity Gala.
The Gala which will take place this month in Atlanta‎ will focus on raising money to continue Empower54’s establishing schools in refugee camps and rehabilitation of schools destroyed by Boko Haram in North East Nigeria.
Coordinator of Empower54, Modupe Ozuola, made it known in a statement, saying the Gala is titled: ‎”Rise Above Terror”.
She added that campaign commenced rehabilitating hundreds of women and children in refugee camps by empowering the women with monies to start businesses.
She stated, “‎The City of Atlanta has joined forces with Princess Modupe Ozolua’s NGO, Empower54 to raise funds for Nigeria’s IDPs through Empower54’s Annual African Art Charity Gala, which is an exclusive VIP gala exhibition/auction of African paintings and art works holding in Atlanta.
“Since February 2015, Empower54’s “Rise Above Terror” campaign commenced rehabilitating hundreds of women and children in refugee camps by empowering the women with monies to start businesses, created schools at the IDP camps for the children and commenced rebuilding schools destroyed by Boko Haram in North East Nigeria.
“Empower54’s April 2016 Atlanta gala focus is on raising money to continue Empower54’s establishing schools in refugee camps and rehabilitation of schools destroyed by Boko Haram in North East Nigeria.
“The City of Atlanta under the office of the Mayor of Atlanta, Hollywood actress/humanitarian, Kat Graham, who features in the popular series “Vampire Diaries” have joined His Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu (Patron of Empower54) in throwing their full support behind the organization’s “Rise Above Terror” campaign.
“Other partners include the Andrew Young Foundation, Besharat Gallery, Africa Atlanta, Body Enhancement Ltd, The Nigeria Consulate General (Atlanta), and Fox5 tv.”
