The Imo chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured Nigerians that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s presidency will facilitate wealth and job creation through agricultural value chain.

The state PDP Chairman, Mr Charles Ugwuh, gave the assurance on Saturday at a townhall meeting with stakeholders during the party’s presidential campaign rally at Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of the state.

“You have 134,000 registered voters in Ngor Okpala, which shows that you have the power to make a statement and a difference.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has governed before and so has the experience.

“You must never be scared to stand for what is right.
“Use your vote to demand for better governance in Nigeria, which PDP represents,” Ugwuh said.

He said that the area was blessed with vast arable land and enormous agricultural potentials and had the capacity to become the food basket of the South-East.

In a remark, former Gov. Emeka Ihedioha described Atiku as “a good man from all intents and purposes”.

“Time has come for the people of Ngor Okpala to prove that Atiku is their son and brother.

“The injustice in Nigeria will disappear when PDP is elected on Feb. 25, as the presidential aspiration of Atiku is for the restoration of justice in Nigeria,” Ihedioha said.

Ihedioha said that PDP paraded the best candidates for the 2023 elections and urged the people to support the party at all levels.

He described the senatorial candidate of the party for Imo East, Mr Uche Onyeagucha, as a “man of outstanding integrity, who rejected bribe as a member of the House of Representatives to fight against the infamous Third Term Agenda”.

He also described the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Ngor Okpala State Constituency, Chief Kingsley Odionyenma, as a “humble servant, who is prepared to serve with dedication and fear of God”.

He urged the people to support the candidate for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Dr Albert Agulanna.

The Director-General of Atiku Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Greg Egu, said Atiku holds a chieftaincy title of “Nwanne di na mba” from Ngor Okpala.

He said that Atiku was the only candidate who had come to Ngor Okpala severally.

Egu, who hails from the area, appealed to the people to ensure victory for PDP as a demonstration of their love for Atiku.

The townhall meeting, which took place at the Umuneke Ngor Youth Hall, brought together the leaders of trade unions, town unions, religious bodies, traditional institutions, pensioners, student unions and private sector in Ngor Okpala in the area.
