Atiku in Bauchi, vows to rescue Nigerians from Buhari's 'abject poverty'

Atiku Abubakar

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday in Bauchi reiterated  his pledge to revamp the country’s economy if elected president.
Addressing people  of the state during his party’s political rally, Atiku said Nigerians were now living in abject poverty caused by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and needed to be rescued.
He also promised to create job opportunities of the teeming youth and other unemployed Nigerians.
The aspirant, therefore, told people of the state to give him their mandate during the forthcoming elections, as well as vote other candidates of the PDP.
Earlier in his remarks, the North East Zonal Coordinator of Atiki/Obi Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, said he was impressed with the reception accorded Atiku and his entourage.
Dankwambo, also Governor of Gombe State, urged the people to vote for Atiku, adding that the PDP was working hard to return power back to the people.
Also speaking, the  party’s governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, said Atiku would enhance the welfare and living condition of the people if elected,
On his part, Abdulkadir said if voted as governor, he would join hands with Atiku to revamp the ailing education and health sectors in the state.
He said a PDP-led government in the state would tap all the mineral resources available, with a view to converting them into wealth for the people.
National Chairman of the party, Chief Uche Secondus, said the people of the state had chosen the right candidate that would wrestle power from the incumbent governor in the state.
Secondus, who later handed over the party’s flag to Abdulkadir, urged them to vote for Atiku for a better Nigeria.
