A cleric, Rev Oladele Afolabi, has condemned the crave for money by Nigerians at the expense of salvation.
Ministering on Sunday at the 17th convention/anniversary thanksgiving service of Divine Favour Prayer Assembly Ministries, Mowe, Ogun State, Rev. Oladele said Nigerians should emulate Simon Peter who abandoned a great multitude of fishes he caught and followed Christ (Lk 5:6).

He reminded Nigerians to remember the word of God “which admonished us to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness”, adding that “all other things shall be added unto us” (Mt 6:33).

Rev. Oladele stated that upon Peter’s decision to follow Christ, he was transformed and became a great vessel of power that his ordinary shadow healed the sick.

Quoting from the book of Acts 5:15 which states that “sick people were brought out into the streets and laid on bed so that Peter’s shadow might fall on them, resulting in the healing of the people”, Rev Oladele said “rather than Nigerians pursuing money blindly, they should rather pursue Jesus Christ who has everything which we are looking for”.

The cleric stated that Christ is all we need who is very rich in mercies amongst others.
“When you choose Christ, he would give you financial prosperity, you will prosper in health and your soul shall also prosper” (3 John 2).

“Christ is all we need in the world today. The world is chasing money. Nobody is chasing Jesus. The world must change by turning to Jesus who possesses what we are looking for”.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the church, Chief Kenny Martins, congratulated the church on the successful 17th convention.

In the address delivered on his behalf by Chief Jonny Ucheaga, Chief Kenny Martins commended the ministerial council, the executive council as well as the entire congregational members of the church on the mileage thus far and urged them not to relent in their prayers for national peace, security and economic wellbeing of the nation.
