Residents of Oshodi-Isolo and environ now have cause to smile as the local government chairman, Bolaji  Ariyoh, has embarked on Operation Fix Oshodi, which aims at a comprehensive face lift of the local government area.
The operation, which was launched during the week by the chairman, is aimed at giving a complete make over to Oshodi-Isolo Local Government in terms of roads repairs and constructions, clearing of drainages and removal of refuse.
According to Ariyoh, the council had begun repair works of roads in the following places, Boladale junction, Oshodi Road, Dosunmu/ Baderin junctions.
On Sunday, the council embarked on soil cement stabilization and laying of crushed stones on some streets such as Seinde Callisto, around Charity bus stop in Oshodi.
The Council chairman said further that the works department would move to Alhaji Rafiu street ( Harekrishna), this week.
In the area of environment, Ariyoh said the job would last for a while as it was a continuous process.
“Presently, we have started the removal of refuse from resident areas, black spots and drains.
The exercise is expected to cut across all wards and it includes de-silting of drains to ensure free flow of waste and rain waters”, he said, adding that removal of refuse would be, ” a daily exercise until we have a clean environment”.
