olisa_metuh2The People’s Democratic Party P) has described the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) party’s call for the impeachment of President Goodluck Jonathan as irresponsible and immature.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisa Metuh, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

Metuh said that the call by the APC was part of the party`s larger agenda to truncate the country`s democracy.

He said that the PDP was, however; “ ready, willing and able to stop them in their tracks’’.

Metuh said the APC made the call “upon their realisation that they will not win in the 2015 general elections following the failure of their plans to break the ranks and strength of the PDP.

“They now seek to use all means to cause confusion in the land.’’

The publicity secretary said that the APC knew the implication of the call, “which is to cause massive turmoil and destroy the unity of our dear nation’’.

The ACP had in a statement, signed by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, its interim National Publicity Secretary, called on the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against Jonathan over an alleged gross misconduct.
