Gunmen have assassinated the Youth Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igboeze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The victim, Lucky Idoko, who represented his community, Unadu, as a councillor in Igboeze South Local Government area, was killed while on a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist conveying him was said to have escaped unhurt.
There were speculations in the community that the incident must have been an assassination.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the incident.
He said: “The command has commenced an investigation into the case of the alleged shooting and murder of one Lucky Idoko”.
