The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday elected Moses Olanrewaju as its House of Representatives candidate for the 2027 general elections at Community Field, 112 Road, F Close, Festac Town, Lagos.

Party members gathered at the venue by 9 a.m. for the primaries involving Comrade Ayodele Adewale, Hon. Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan and Mr Moses Olanrewaju.

Accreditation started late after electoral officials arrived about 1:50 p.m. Many voters appeared disgruntled as the process moved slowly.

APC Electoral Ufficial, Mr Tayo Adebimbo, blamed the delay on logistics constraints and late submission of acknowledgement letters by some party agents.

“We expect the entire process to be peaceful,” Adebimbo said.

Mr Afeez Oloye, a Member of Ramotalai’s media team, said accreditation had not started earlier because officials were absent.

Security operatives maintained heavy presence throughout the exercise. The process remained peaceful, with no violence or conflict reported.

Voters stood in three queues for the aspirants. Officials counted each queue openly at the venue.

INEC official, Mrs Tina Obiageri Andrew, monitored the exercise.

Returning Officer, Mr Fadairo Olawunmi, announced three votes for Ayodele Adewale, 15 votes for Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan, and 380 votes for Moses Olanrewaju.

Olawunmi declared Olanrewaju winner of the primaries.

Councillor Egobi Daniel Osagie of Ward K, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, urged members to remain united during the exercise.

“We are all one big family. The best candidate should win,” Osagie said.

“There is no war, and there is no fight. Whoever wins will become our flag bearer,” he added.

The turnout remained large throughout the exercise.

A DJ played music while food and drink vendors attended to party members.

Mr Ayodele Siffre, a Special Adviser on Waste and Drainage Management, also expressed confidence in the process.

“I expect it to be a peaceful process,” Siffre said.
