APC leader commends Buhari on his choice of Adegoroye as Minister

The leader of All Progressives Congress in the Akoko area of Ondo State, Chief Idris Elemeje, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating Prince Ademola Adegoroye as Ondo State’s representative in his cabinet.
The Akoko area comprises four Local Governments including Akoko North East, Akoko North West, Akoko South East and Akoko South West.
Elemeje, an octogenarian and highly revered chieftain of the party, spoke with newsmen in Ikare-Akoko.
He said he always trusted Buhari to choose right and that the President has proved this right by his choice of Adegoroye.

“Who doesn’t know Adegoroye?” he asked rhetorically. “We all know him. He is a very capable person, very humble, forthright and dependable. Give him an assignment, and you can go to sleep. You know I am a teacher. When I see people, I can tell you who they are. But I have not only seen Adegoroye as a person, I have also seen his performance at close quarters. He is my son. But not every son can attract positive testimonial from his father. We don’t care who a student is while assessing him. Buhari will enjoy Ademola as Minister. Give him a challenging job, and you will get the best out of him. Let Buhari give him the most challenging ministry and he would see the difference in this last lap of his administration.”

Elemeje was optimistic that the nomination would sail through in the Senate.

“Very delightful and appropriate.” Those were the words of the Chairman of the Liberal Movement, Hon. Demọlá Ijabiyi, in reaction to the announcement of the nomination of Adegoroye as a minister. Speaking to journalists in Akure, Ijabiyi, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), went on to describe Adegoroye as one who has paid his due in Nigeria’s progressive politics.
“He was a foundation member of the Alliance for Democracy and has remained in that line of politics to this date. He is a member of the Akure Royal family. That royal blood runs in him. He carries it with him and lives the Royal life characterised by ability to maintain effective leadership, as well as the qualities of honesty, integrity and respectable carriage. I have no doubt that the Senate would find him suitable as a Minister.”

The Chairman of the Liberal Movement, a group of some prominent APC members, expressed the hope that Ondo State would be favoured with a senior Minister this time around.
He posited that the State needed upgrading from being represented in the Federal cabinet by a Minister of State, recalling that the last two successive Ministers were Ministers of State.
“Of course, that is absolutely at the discretion of the President,” observed Ijabiyi. “The State might just be luckier this time around given the personality and pedigree of Adegoroye.

“One thing we must concede to President Buhari is his characteristic ability to make the right choices and take the right decisions. His choice of Adegoroye is just superb. And we must thank him for it. He could not have made a more popular and fitting choice from the state. We, of the Liberal Movement, appreciate him for this and plead with him to consider this state for the office of a senior Minister. We need one very badly, and if granted, we believe that Adegoroye would do us proud. He is a fantastic performer”.
