Former Senate President, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, and former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday, visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

After a closed-door meeting with the president, a source disclosed that Anyim and Metuh “are technically no longer in PDP and may soon defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC)”.

With them at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communication & Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake.
Metuh had, in October 2022, resigned his membership in the PDP.
In a letter addressed to former National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, Metuh said he would no longer be involved in partisan politics.
He also said his decision “is to enable me make more contributions to good governance”.
In March 2023, Anyim was suspended by the party.
During the March 18 governorship election, he supported the APC candidate in his home state, Francis Nwifuru.
Nwifuru was sworn in as Dave Umahi’s successor on May 29.
