Any attempt to ridicule Tinubu will fail, says Rep

From Bode Durojaiye, Oyo

A member of the House of Representative representing Oyo Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, has cautioned against primordial sentiments, gang-up and acts of brigandage capable of jeopardising the fortunes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) beyond 2019.
He also warned that any subterranean move by some stakeholders to malign and assassinate the character of the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, would not ridicule or tarnish his reputation but further fortify
the envious and unbeatable records of performance towards the success of the party before, during and after the last general elections in the country.
Adeniyi gave the warning at the APC stakeholders meeting of the constituency comprising Afijio, Atiba, Oyo-East and Oyo-West local governments.
The meeting, which took place at the Alliance Hotel, Oyo
was attended by leaders and chairmen of the party at wards and local government levels.
The federal lawmaker, who is the son of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, berated what he called ”senseless persecution and unwarranted hatred against the personality of Tinubu “by some self-seeking stakeholders in the party over the lingering leadership tussle in the National Assembly”.
He said: ”Asiwaju Tinubu remains an enigma and
incontrovertible pathfinder in the nation’s political history. His stand on party’s decision concerning leadership of both the Senate and the House of Representatives was distinctively clear but turned the other way by some stakeholders who are hell-bent on reaping where they did not sow, by causing pandemonium and discord among the lawmakers.”.
He noted that rather than being myopic, egoistic and desperately envious, those sponsoring disunity within the party could have teamed up with the party’s leadership and leaders of thought on how best to evolve vibrant legislative chambers.
Adeniyi, who said the meeting became imperative in order to keep his constituents abreast of the development, pledged his unalloyed loyalty and support to the party decision on the leadership of the National Assembly.
“’I did not contest and win as an independent candidate, but on the ticket of the APC. I am, therefore, duty-bound to
honour and respect my party’s decision, no matter the situation.”
The federal lawmaker also urged the people to be patient with the Buhari-led administration to enable it properly scrutinise the hand-over notes received from the last administration, so as to clear the rots of economic subservience unleashed on the citizens over the years.
Commenting on the violent attack on a party chieftain and former member of the House of Representatives, Akinrogun Segun Taiwo, during the last governorship and state assembly elections, Adeniyi enjoined the ex-federal lawmaker to accept the attack as sacrifice to the party.
