The Association of Nigeria Theatre-Arts Practitioners (ANTP) is set to celebrate the legacies of the late theatre legend, Hubert Ogunde, at the Iwure Day event in Ososa town, Ogun State, on Saturday.

The event, which marks the beginning of the association’s yearly activities, will feature prayers from Christian, Islamic, and traditional perspectives. High Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon will lead the traditional prayer, while Pastor Bisi Sunday and Alfa Mukadam will lead the Christian and Islamic prayers, respectively.

Other highlights of the event include a homage to the Ososa traditional King, Oba Abdulmajeed Toyese Alatise, and a visit to the Hubert Ogunde Museum.

Farounbi

Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, one of the association’s pillars of support, Chief Lere Paimo, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chief Oyewole Olowomojuore and other notable elders and members of the association are expected to attend.
Oyadiran

The National President, Dr Rasak Baroka Oyadiran, said the planned event is the flagship of the Association’s all-year-round activities.

The Iwure Day event, according to Dr. Oyadiran, is a significant occasion for the ANTP, as it honours the memory of Hubert Ogunde, the association’s first and last life president.
He said the event promises to be a celebration of Ogunde’s enduring legacy in Nigerian theatre.
