Amusan breezes into women’s 100m hurdles final

Tobiloba Amusan will run in the final race of the women’s 100 metres hurdles event at the ongoing 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo on Monday, after qualifying on Sunday.

The 24-year-old qualified at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium by winning semi-final 1 with a time of 12.62 seconds, leaving Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton who had 12.66 in second place.

Amusan will now run from lane 6 against seven other qualifiers.

She has a personal best 12.48, the fourth best in the field, and a season best of 12.48 also, which is equally a fourth best in the field.

Amusan is ranked number four in the world, and she is second best in rankings in Monday’s field of eight finalists.

World record-holder Kendra Harrison of the U.S. is the best in number two.
