Group to South-West governors: Empower Amotekun

Amotekun

The Osun State Muslim Community in a statement by the President, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, has allayed fears of Muslims in the state that the South-West security outfit, Amotekun, would be anti-Islam or tilt its employment to favour Christians.

The Muslim body also said its members are in full support of the security outfit designed for the protection of lives and property in Nigeria as provided for by the Nigeria constitution and the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We want to allay the fears of the teeming population of Muslims that the Amotekun outfit has no plan to marginalize or shortchange the interest of Islam and Muslims”.

Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi further stated in the statement that “we wish to inform everyone of the successful interaction between the authority of Amotekun outfit and the Osun State Muslim Community which has helped resolve the gray areas in the operational details and deepened understanding of the issues among the stakeholders”.

The statement which was made available to the state’s Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation also explained how all stakeholders were consulted in putting together the operational structure of Amotekun.

“No one will be left in the dark whenever the operational structure and guidelines are out before implementation”.

The Osun State Muslim Community applauded the efforts of all stakeholders in the state. “We commend the efforts of all stakeholders in the state for peaceful and cordial interactions devoid of rancour and chaos.
“We pray for peace, harmony and progress in Osun State, under the able leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.”

They also extolled Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for upholding equity and justice in the state. “We want to state here unequivocally, that the Executive Governor of Osun has maintained equity and justice among adherents of various religions in the state and this is worthy of emulation by all”.
