The partisan crisis in Rivers State deepened on Thursday with the dissolution of Obio/Akpor Local Government by Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

It is believed that Education Minister, Nyeson Wike, is using elected officers of the council to fight the Amaechi administration.

The chairman and councillors of the council were suspended a few months ago by the House of Assembly for alleged fraud.
