The Senator representing Osun East District, Francis Fadahunsi, has been summoned by the Osun State Police Command over a viral statement he allegedly made during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in Ilesa that Accord members should be killed.
The governorship election holds on Saturday.
The senator is expected to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Osogbo on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, following allegations that he made comments interpreted as a threat to the lives of members and supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 election.
The police invitation, dated August 11, was signed by Samuel Etaifo Erale, Commissioner of Police in charge of elections in Osun State.
Fadahunsi is required to report to the SCID at 11am to “clarify the circumstances” surrounding the remarks attributed to him.

The letter said the invitation was based on information available to the police concerning statements allegedly made by the senator during the APC campaign programme in Ilesa.
“The invitation is premised on information in possession of the Nigeria Police alleging that during your address at the aforementioned programme, you made statements considered to be threatening, inciting and intimidating in nature, and the statement has already been in circulation on various electronic and social media platforms,” the letter stated.
