Dear Sir,

PETITION AGAINST CP AKIN FAKOREDE OF THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE MONITORING UNIT FOR RELEASING CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS OBTAINED IN THE COURSE OF (NOT) INVESTIGATING MY PETITION, TO SUSPECT, PRINCE OLAGUNSOYE OYINLOLA.

I do not intend to bore you with the details of my petition against Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola regarding a threat to my life, after he obtained property worth one hundred and fifty thousand dollars (US$150,000) from me by false pretence more than fifteen years ago, because the matter is now being diligently handled by a more responsible (read incorruptible), competent and professional institution, after it was withdrawn from the Nigeria Police Force that has become notorious for improper handling of investigations.

Tinubu

Following my withdrawal of the case from the Police when it became clear to me that DCP (as he then was) Akin Fakorede was working toward a pre-determined outcome, my lawyers applied for certified true copies of the statements made by my humble self and Suspect, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to the Police in order to pursue alternative remedies, but our request was contemptuously ignored.
Oyinlola

To my utter consternation, however, I discovered that a duplicate of the entire case file had been made available to Suspect, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who, rather stupidly, circulated the documents to certain individuals in our hometown, Okuku, Osun State (for reasons best known to him).
Sequel to my chance discovery of this irrefutable evidence of compromise on the part of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit headed by CP Akin Fakorede, I forwarded separate complaints with photocopies of the documents that were released clandestinely, to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC) on the 11th of November, 2025 and followed up with two other separate complaints highlighting additional evidence of a blatant breach of Police processes and procedures, on the 18th of November, 2025 (copies attached).
Being that the two complaints were not even acknowledged by the entities mentioned above, I am of the firm view that the matter has, to all intents and purposes, been swept under the carpet in typical Nigerian fashion.
Oyinlola

I would be grateful, therefore, if you could prod the Police Service Commission to perform its statutory duty by investigating what transpired between CP Akin Fakorede of the IGP Monitoring Unit and suspect, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; especially, as it concerns how and why confidential Police documents changed hands between the duo.
A vital standard for just societies is that “No one is above the law”.
Please accept my consideration and regard.

*Adeolu Oyinlola.
