The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, has commiserated with the family and the people of Ogbomoso town over the death of former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala.

In a condolence message by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, Alaafin, who urged the family to accept his sincere sympathy for the loss of their husband and father, also said he shared in their grief at this sad time.

The message reads in parts,

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of your husband and father. He will be truly missed, and I will include you and your family in my daily prayers.

“A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds. Through us, they live on. Surely he (Otuba Adebayo Alao Akala) will not be forgotten.

“My deepest sympathies go out to the family during this difficult period. May you find the comfort and peace that you seek and may the soul of your husband and father rest in peace.”

The Paramount Ruler described the late Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a “passionate, resilient, humble, and an astute politician whose life and times would remain a source of inspiration to posterity”.

Said he, “death is the wish of some, the relief of many, and the end of all. No one can confidently say that he will still be living tomorrow. Death, they say, acquits us of all obligations. The goal of all life is death. After your death you will be what you were before your birth.
No one here gets out alive. Nothing in life is promised except death”.

Oba Adeyemi, however, prayed Allah to grant deceased eternal rest and the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
