Akwa United have placed 11 of their players in the transfer market ahead of their preparation for the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Similarly, the Promise Keepers are expected to start pre-season exercise on October 26.

Completesportsnigeria.com learnt that the club will also bolster the squad with fresh faces with list of players who will replace the underperformed players still being put together.

The Uyo- based outfit finished in a disappointing 14th position in the 2015/2016 season.

They also had a disappointing outing in the CAF Confederation Cup where they exited the competition in the first group stage.

Belgian trainer, Maurice Cooreman, who was reportedly suspended at some point last season is still in charge of the side after the club denied reports he has been sacked on Tuesday.
