Re: ZLP, Ajayi Plotting To Clone, Circulate Fake Documents Against Akeredolu
Those to be destroyed by the gods, they first make mad.
The foregoing truism finds relevance in the obscene attempts by media hirelings of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to always raise false alarms against the Deputy Governor of Ondo State and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the 2020 Ondo State gubernatorial election, Agboola Ajayi.
These tactics are not only criminal because they border on satanic falsehood, they have become monotonous and boring. It is quite unfortunate and condemnable that scarce resources of the state are being spend weekly to sponsor and blackmail the person and Office of the Deputy Governor.
Again, the unfounded and horrendous press statement issued on 28th August, 2020, by Olabode Richard Olatunde, which alleged a sinister move by the Deputy Governor and candiate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Agboola Ajayi to embarrass and malign the personality of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) is amateur, puerile and sickening.
Most ridiculous is the fact that the statement also alleged that there were plots to discredit Governor Akeredolu and the APC ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
For the purpose of clarity and facts, Arakunrin Akeredolu’s administration is already discredited before the people of Ondo State on many grounds. A government which owes salaries; a government that has commercialised education and health; a government that is chronically clannish and nepotistic is a discredited one. Nothing has discredited Akeredolu’s administration more than the just concluded local government election. Sadly, Akeredolu’s government and the APC no longer have an atom of credibility since one of the campaign managers of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Barrister Issac Kekemeke confessed to a grand plan to unleash violence in an orchestrated bid to rig the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Akeredolu lost every credibility by the fact that there’s no record that he boldly disassociated himself, government and party from Kekemeke’s threat of violence or condemned it.
It was not the Deputy Governor who cloned the documents showing details of the recovered and now missing N4.3 billion state funds kept in the Zenith Bank. Neither was the Deputy Governor responsible for the dwindling popularity and rejection of Mr Governor by the people. These are self inflicted wounds; the results of Akeredolu’s missteps and blatant refusal to take wise counsel from critical stakeholders in the state.
One is tempted to empathise with Mr Governor particularly over how he squandered the good will enjoyed at the inception of his administration. But it is clear that the man is a victim of his own foibles and vices; and rightly so.
It is, therefore, unfortunate that on a daily basis, Mr Governor is becoming paranoid, hysterical like a village witch whose comeuppance has come as he faces imminent defeat at the poll. Here is a man who once bragged that he had nothing to lose if voted out of office; as he would joyfully return to his base in Ibadan.
Mr Governor should be prepared to return to Ibadan as predicted because Ondo State people have resolved to send him packing in order to put him out of his misery and take back their state from an enlightened kleptomaniac and apostle of bad governance.
