Agbakoba to Jonathan: Sack your Defence Chief now

For his inability to contain insurgency in parts of the North, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to sack Defence Chief, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.
To the Senior Advocate, no responsible government will continue to retain its Defence Chief in the face of endless killings.
“Alex Badeh has failed to discharge his duties as the Chief of Defence Staff. He should be dismissed if nobody wants to resign. He is a failure and should resign. My advice to President Jonathan is that he should sack him as the head of the military,” Agbakoba said.
He said it was unfortunate that Nigerians were being killed in their hundreds everyday and it appears as if the government is helpless. To him, the rationale thing for any top military commander to do in such a situation is to resign. And if he is not ready to do that, he should be sacked.
