It is the turn of three African fashionistas to enjoy continental fame as CNN International celebrates them in the latest edition of its magazine programme, CNN African Voices, sponsored by the digital transformation leader, Globacom.

The edition celebrates 34-year-old Loza Maleombho, a fashion designer based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Maleombo on the programme shares her first love and the story of how she is bridging Ivorian traditions with modern fashion.

The programme will then shift focus to Lilongwe, Malawi where it introduces another fashionista, Lilly Alfonso, to viewers. Alfonso is creating high fashion styles globally acknowledged and widely regarded as a perfect fit to satisfy the growing demand for fashion in Malawi.

Alphonso developed a passion for fashion as a child and over the years grew it into a thriving and award-winning clothing business. In 2010 she won the Fashion Designer of the Year Award in Malawi. She has since designed outfits for the Miss Malawi pageant.

The programme is rounded up with the celebration of an international model and restaurateur from Mauritius, Alicia Rountree, known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, who recently launched a swimwear line.

Catch CNN African Voices at 9.30 a.m. on Friday. Repeat editions will be broadcast at 3.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturday and 11.30 a.m and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday. Further repeats will be broadcast at 10.30 a.m. on Monday and 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
