AFCON: Salah ‘caged’ as Nigeria defeat Egypt 1-0

Liverpool striker and Egyptian superstar, Mo Salah, was effectively caged on Tuesday as the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated their Egyptian counterpart 1-0.
It was at the 2021 AFCON Group D opener at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon.
It was a day Salah was denied the chance of getting possession of the ball to do damage.
A 30-minute goal from Kelechi Iheanacho gave the Super Eagles a 1-0 lead against Egypt in the first half and they defended this lead till the referee blew the final whistle.
The 25-year-old Iheanacho slotted home a delightful pass from Joe Aribo and enjoyed good communication with Taiwo Awoniyi, causing problems for the Pharaohs.
