With less than 24 hours to the Africa Nations Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Knights of Libya, the senior national team players have been speaking ahead of the encounter.

William Troost-Ekong –Defender and captain

“We won our last match here in Uyo 3-0 and that is the spirit we are going with on Friday. We want to win and win well to make the qualification easy for us. We all know the importance of three points in a competition like this and so, we are going all out for it.”

Ola Aina – Defender

“Every match will normally pose a different challenge. We are working hard to ensure we have very good results not only here but also in the away match.”

Ademola Lookman-Forward

“Nigerians love football and we want to make them happy with good results in the two games against Libya. We have been training and we are confident of victory in this match.”

Taiwo Awoniyi – Forward

“We are ready for the match. Everyone is working hard and together, we are going to sing victory song on Friday. No team is a push over, we are approaching the match with all seriousness to win and win well.”

Frank Onyeka –Midfielder

“Football in recent time has shown that winning is about preparation and readiness. We respect our opponents and will not underrate them. I believe we have done enough to win on Friday.”

Victor Boniface –Forward

“We have so many talented players who are currently in good form. That is why I am so confident that we are going to beat Libya in Uyo. We have everything to achieve that.”

“It is going to be a tough match but we are equally ready. The Libyans are desperate for points but we also need to consolidate on our position on the table. We want to win for Nigerians.”
