Super Eagles of Nigeria, on Saturday, defeated Pharaohs of Egypt 4:2 in a penalty shootout to win the third place match trophy at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Casablanca, Morocco.
During the penalty shootout, captain of the Egyptian side, Mohamed Salah and Mohammed Marmouch lost their kicks.
Nigerian goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, was spectacular in his performance. He emerged the Man of the Match.

Nigeria lost the first shot taken by Fisayo Dele-Basiru.
Akor Adams made no mistake when he sent the Egyptian goalkeeper the wrong way.
Mohammed Marmouch then lost his kick, with Stanley Nwabali saving it with his legs.
Moses Simon, who captained the team, stepped up for the third penalty for the Super Eagles and slotted it in.
The Pharaohs scored their third kick and
Alex Iwobi also scored for Nigeria with a beautifully struck kick.
Mahmoud Sabeh scored for Egypt and
Ademola Lookman won the game for Nigeria with a powerful kick.
Nigeria thus won bronze with a 4-2 penalty scoreline.
