Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke brought a lively atmosphere to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday as he displayed his popular dance moves alongside President Bola Tinubu during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
The event, held on October 14, 2026, brought together political leaders preparing to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke, widely recognised for his energetic dancing, entertained guests with his familiar moves, drawing applause and cheers from the audience.
A video circulated on social media showed the governor dancing to Feel, a song by his nephew and Afrobeats star Davido, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The Osun governor later joined Tinubu in dancing, creating one of the most talked-about moments of the political gathering.
Adeleke Declares Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election
Beyond the entertainment, Adeleke used the occasion to publicly reaffirm his commitment to President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The governor pledged to mobilise political support in Osun State and urged Nigerians to back the president’s re-election campaign.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu would return to the Presidential Villa after the 2027 election, suggesting that supporters would celebrate the victory with music and dancing.
Adeleke also appealed for continued prayers for the president, saying the success of the administration would benefit Nigerians.
His declaration was particularly significant because he remains a member of the Accord Party rather than the ruling APC.
APC Appoints Adeleke Osun Campaign Coordinator
The APC had earlier included Adeleke in its expanded Presidential Campaign Council, assigning him responsibility for coordinating Tinubu’s re-election efforts in Osun State.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was also appointed to oversee campaign activities in his state.
Similarly, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was given coordinating responsibilities covering Rivers State and the FCT.
The appointments reflect the ruling party’s effort to build political alliances beyond its membership ahead of the 2027 general election.
APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda said the party had reached out to influential politicians from other political platforms to strengthen support for the president.
Tinubu Calls for Unity Ahead of 2027 Election
Speaking during the inauguration, Tinubu urged members of the campaign council to remain united and committed as preparations for the presidential election gather momentum.
The president encouraged party leaders to communicate the administration’s achievements and policies to voters while continuing to address the country’s governance challenges.
He also emphasised that political activities should not distract government officials from their responsibilities to Nigerians.
The gathering attracted senior government officials, party leaders and prominent political figures from different parts of the country.
Adeleke’s Support Highlights Unusual Political Alliance
Adeleke’s participation in the APC campaign has attracted attention because of his recent political history.
The governor left the PDP and joined the Accord Party in 2025 amid internal disagreements within his former party.
He subsequently secured another term as Osun governor in the August 15, 2026, governorship election, defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Official election results showed that Adeleke received 511,067 votes, compared with Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.
His decision to support the APC presidential candidate therefore represents cooperation between politicians who recently contested against one another in the state.
Accord Presidential Candidate Questions Adeleke’s Endorsement
However, the governor’s alignment with Tinubu has not received unanimous support within the Accord Party.
Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election, criticised the inclusion of opposition politicians in the APC campaign structure during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
He argued that Adeleke’s position as governor did not give him the authority to determine how Osun residents should vote in the presidential election.
Olawepo-Hashim maintained that voters would ultimately make their own political choices, regardless of the governor’s endorsement.
Despite the disagreement, Adeleke’s campaign organisation has expressed strong support for Tinubu, promising to mobilise voters across Osun State.
With the APC campaign council now inaugurated, attention is turning to how these cross-party alliances will influence political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
For Adeleke, Wednesday’s appearance combined his familiar public personality with a clear political message: he intends to support Tinubu’s bid for another four years in office.
