The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has priced a five-year global bond of four billion dollars as part of the multilateral lender’s ordinary capital resources.

The Manila-based bank made the disclosure on Thursday.

The bond, with a coupon rate of 4.50 per cent per annum payable semi-annually with a maturity date of Aug. 25, 2028, was priced at 99.961 per cent.

This is due to yield 14.60 basis points over the U.S. Treasury notes as at July 2028.

The issue achieved a wide primary market distribution, with 53 per cent of the bonds placed in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, 29 per cent in the Americas, and 18 per cent in Asia.

“We appreciate the strong and consistent support of our investors as seen from our most recent benchmark issuance,’’ ADB Treasurer Pierre Van Peteghem said.

The ADB plans to raise 28 to 30 billion U.S. dollars from the capital markets in 2023.
