*Party Leaders Rally Behind Governorship Candidate’s Vision for Transformational Governance

Determined to chart a new course for Adamawa State, businessman and politician, Hon. Abdulrahman Haske, on Saturday, officially announced his membership resignation from the All Progressives Party (APC) and formally joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as its governorship candidate.
He declared his readiness to leverage APM’s progressive platform and growing grassroots momentum to deliver transformational governance and unlock the state’s vast economic and human potential.

The official declaration, attended by party leaders, stakeholders, traditional and community leaders, youth and women groups, loyalists, and supporters from all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa State, marked the beginning of what Haske described as a renewed political movement anchored on principle, service, and the aspirations of the people.
Addressing party faithful and supporters, Haske said his decision to join the APM was informed by his conviction that the party offers the most credible platform to advance a people-centred development agenda and build a more prosperous, inclusive and secure Adamawa.

According to him, the decision represents “a convergence of principle and purpose” and underscores his commitment to accountable leadership, economic empowerment, youth inclusion, social development and sustainable growth.
“Today is not merely about joining a political party; it is about strengthening a movement dedicated to the future of Adamawa State. Our objective remains clear: to build a state where governance works for the people, where young people have opportunities to succeed, where communities are connected to development, and where public resources are managed transparently for the common good,” Haske said.
The APM governorship candidate noted that the overwhelming support his movement continues to enjoy across the state has reinforced his belief that Adamawa is ready for a fresh approach to leadership.
Haske pledged to mobilise citizens behind a development agenda focused on agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, security and accountable governance.
He also expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of the APM for the confidence reposed in him, particularly the National Chairman, the National Working Committee and the Adamawa State chapter of the party.

“I am deeply grateful to the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement for their belief in our shared vision and for entrusting me with the responsibility of carrying the party’s flag in the 2027 governorship election. I accept this mandate with humility and an unwavering determination to justify this confidence through integrity, hard work and dedicated service to the people of Adamawa State,” he stated.
Speaking at the event, the National Chairman of APM, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, described Haske as a leader whose political philosophy aligns closely with the party’s progressive ideals and commitment to people-centred governance.
According to Dantalle, the party’s decision to support Haske was informed by his demonstrated commitment to development, youth empowerment, inclusive leadership and social impact.
“After extensive consultations, we are convinced that Abdulrahman Haske embodies the values and principles for which the Allied Peoples Movement stands. His belief in empowering ordinary citizens, promoting inclusive development and building stronger communities aligns perfectly with our progressive vision. We are confident that he possesses the leadership capacity, credibility and energy required to offer Adamawa a compelling alternative in 2027,” Dantalle said.
Also speaking, the Adamawa State Chairman of APM, Hon. Badejo Bello, said the party was proud to welcome and present Haske as its governorship candidate, describing him as a bridgebuilder with a clear understanding of the developmental challenges and opportunities facing the state.

“Hon. Abdulrahman Haske represents the kind of leadership that resonates with the aspirations of our people. His vision, record of service and commitment to inclusive development are fully aligned with the progressive direction of our party. We are confident that under his leadership, APM will provide a platform for genuine transformation, renewed hope and sustainable progress for the people of Adamawa State,” Bello said.
