A crane collapsed on Wednesday at the construction site of a future World Cup football stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, killing at least three people.
A report by a Brazilian newspaper, O Estado de S.Paulo, on its website said the accident also caused damage to the structure.
A spokesman for the city’s fire department said there were three victims but declined to confirm any deaths.
The stadium is to be the site of the opening game when Brazil hosts the 2014 FIFA World Cup in June and July.
It was scheduled to be finished in the next month or so.
However, the spokesmen for Corinthians and Odebrecht SA, the football club using the facility and the construction firm building the stadium respectively, declined immediate comment.
