Wasiu Ayinde

Embattled Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), has issued a public apology following the incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday.

In a statement on Friday, the music legend acknowledged his involvement in the episode, describing his actions as a lapse in judgement and an unfortunate moment of indiscretion.

“I take full responsibility for my conduct at the airport. It was a thoughtless error on my part, one that has understandably triggered widespread public criticism. I deeply regret my actions”.

KWAM 1 extended his sincere apologies to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), affected airport personnel, fellow passengers, and the Nigerian public at large.

In addition to his personal apology, he made a heartfelt appeal to the relevant authorities to reconsider the disciplinary actions taken against the pilots involved in the incident.

“I humbly urge the regulatory bodies to temper justice with mercy concerning the suspension of the pilots and any further actions they may be contemplating.

“To err is human. I sincerely ask for forgiveness. This incident has served as a sobering lesson on the need for civility, self-restraint and accountability.”

He concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold better conduct going forward, expressing deep remorse over the entire episode.
