The voting at the polling unit 046 in the Youth Centre in Ado,  near Karu Local Government Secretariat of Nasarawa State  was stalled due to the absence of ad hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that voters were seen in groups discussing the absence of INEC officials.
NAN reports that Foreign observers who who were at the centre with registration numbers 140 CD 279,  140 CD 36 respectively were also amazed that as at 11:30 a. m., INEC officials were not seen at the unit
NAN reports that they had waited for 15 minutes before they left the area.
Similarly, a Toyota niece with registration number Nasarawa NS 08 B02 filled with security personnel where were at te centre, left after waiting for a while.
A voter, Mr Innocent Audu, said he was at the youth center by 6 a. m. to vote but did not see any sign of INEC officials on ground.
”Nobody is saying anything. No official is go-round to tell us is this center has been relocated,” he said.
INEC recently said that elections will not be held in 240 polling units in 28 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja,.

This is because no voter chose the polling units during the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) between June 2021 and July 2022.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, said the polling units are part of the over 56,000 newly created polling units.

INEC had from 2021 increased the number of polling units from a total of 119,973 to 176,846.

With this development, the presidential and national assembly as well as states and their houses of assembly elections will be held in 176,606 polling units, he added.
