The Kebbi Police Command has confirmed the release of kidnapped High Court Judge, Justice Faruk Bunza, who was abducted from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Monday by the Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman.
Usman said that the judge regained his freedom after spending about one week in captivity.
“Though the abductors demanded a ransom during the period of captivity, the command maintained its firm position against the payment of ransom to criminals.
“The police and other security agencies have stepped up investigation to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” he said.
Usman appealed to members of the public to support the ongoing investigation by volunteering credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
He assured residents that all information provided would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
The police also urged residents to report any useful information through the command’s emergency control room numbers: 09039911876 and 07081074395.
