Alaafin, Ooni, Adams charge FG to beef up security in South-West

Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has described the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland on the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams, as God-ordained.
The decision of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in picking Otunba Adams as the new Generalissimo after about twenty years of wait, the former governor said, is divine and a sacredly delayed  act in order to choose the anointed one.
In his message, Daniel stated that with the appointment of Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo designate, “the Yoruba race is in pole position to take its rightful place in the comity of regions that made up our nation, Nigeria”.
The appointment, he stressed, has embedded the name of Otunba Adams as one of the foremost Yoruba men of our era and a man of history.
“The courage, bravery and patriotic acts in the areas of promotion of culture values, security and overall development of Yoruba nation are  the exemplary virtues of Otunba Adams that stood him out as a true son of Oduduwa who the region needs at this particular moment of our national history.
He then prayed God to grant Adams the wisdom of Solomon in his new roles as the Are Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland as he carries the socio-cultural responsibilities of the region.
