$300,000 scam: My story, by Amosun’s wife

Olufunso, wife of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, on Friday, defended her integrity on the rumour that she was arrested in London over a $300,000 laundering scam.
To her, the rumour “is the handiwork of mischief makers”.
Speaking in Abeokuta on Friday, she said the report was “a concoction and a figment of the imagination of mischief makers”.
Mrs. Amosun declared that she had never been involved in money laundering or any other crime and would never contemplate such.
She said: “My husband, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is a man of integrity who would not condone such things. I never did anything of that nature (money laundering). But as you can see me to the glory of God, it’s not my portion; it shall never be my portion and I believe that you know your Governor, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, I’m sure you know he’ll never be involved in anything that is associated with money laundering or anything negative like that.
“So, as you said, it’s a rumour and it shall remain so. It didn’t happen, it hasn’t happened and it shall not happen.”
