Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Saturday, assured Nigerians of policies that would transform the nation’s economy in 2016.
Saraki gave the assurance in a statement by Mr Bamikole Omishore, his Special Assistant on Media.
The statement said the senate president gave the assurance at special prayer in Ilorin to mark his 53rd birthday.

He said that the current administration was committed to making lives more comfortable for Nigerians.

Saraki said that the APC-led federal government would continue to formulate economic policies that would be beneficial to all.

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari administration, adding that the Senate under his leadership would be committed to improved socio- economic development of the country.

He said that his birthday was not celebrated with fanfare due to the global economic situation affecting the country.

“As I said, the challenging situation globally, in the country and in the states did not allow for celebration.

“We have great challenges ahead as a country. So, we have to dedicate ourselves to improving the situation for the common good,” he said.

Saraki solicited the support of all Nigerians in the task ahead, saying that the legislature was more committed to serving the people to realise their collective aspirations and goals.

He commended the people of Kwara for their unflinching support since his emergence as President of the Senate and promised that he would not disappoint them and Nigerians.
