The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his queen, Queen Mariam have joyfully welcomed twin princes to the royal House of Oduduwa, palace officials confirmed on Friday.

According to Mr Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, both mother and children are in good health following a successful delivery. The arrival of the twins has sparked widespread celebration across Ile-Ife, with friends, well-wishers, and dignitaries sending congratulatory messages to the royal family.

Oba Ogunwusi described the twins’ birth as a blessing for the royal household and the entire House of Oduduwa, expressing profound gratitude to Almighty Olodumare for the safe delivery.

He also acknowledged the support of followers and associates who have offered prayers, love, and goodwill, calling the occasion one of thanksgiving and communal celebration.

The traditional ruler prayed that the newborn princes grow to embody wisdom, peace, health, and greatness, and serve as worthy ambassadors of Yoruba culture and Ile-Ife’s rich heritage
